May 2014 to present – At the end of April 2014 Philip resigned his senior position with Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management after 6 successful years to take up exciting consultancy roles with Hargreave Hale Investment Managers and Stockbrokers, Rawlinson & Hunter Fund Services (Jersey) Limited and Artemis Marketing Limited, – and this move provided him with an opportunity to develop Philip Simmonds Private Office Limited and the Private Office Group of companies, and to go on to study for his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Kingston University, beginning in October 2015.
Hargreave Hale Limited, Stockbrokers and Investment Managers – Philip and his business partner Jeff Cornish set up DFM Solutions Limited in 2014 (www.dfmsolutions.co.uk) to provide ongoing sales and marketing services for Hargreave Hale’s Intermediary Services. Philip has been integral in developing the intermediary services proposition with the team at Hargreave Hale, and with the proposed official launch date of 1st September 2015, Jeff will be joining Phil in marketing Hargreave Hale’s DFM Services to IFA’s, Solicitors, Accountants, Fiduciaries, Trusts, Charities and Pension Funds. Hargreave Hale manage and administer more than £4.5Billion of assets and have offices in *London * Bangor * Blackpool * Carlisle * Lancaster * Worcester & * York.
R&H Fund Services (Jersey) Limited – Phil took up the offer by Graeme Ross, Partner at R&H in Jersey to assist with the marketing of their new UK regulated family fund structure. Having worked with Graeme and the Jersey team from 2006 to 2008, – during which time among other projects Phil set up Brooks Macdonald’s white-labelled offshore fund structure offering, Phil is very much looking forward to the launch of the new R&H UK friendly structure and to working with Graeme and the team again on this exciting project.
Artemis Marketing Limited – Philip took up the offer to become Director of Strategy at Artemis. Phil’s role with Artemis is to assist the senior management in growing the business which includes Financial Resource Management, Operations Management, Employee Professional Development, Corporate Incentives, Services Marketing and Strategic Management.

May 2008 to May 2014 – Collins Stewart Hawkpoint Plc / Canaccord Financial Inc. – Philip was Head of Intermediary Business Development and the Charities division at Collins Stewart Wealth Management. In 2012 Collins Stewart Hawkpoint Plc was acquired by Canaccord Financial Inc., a Canadian financial services firm with operations in two principal segments of the securities industry: global capital markets and wealth management. Collins Stewart Wealth Management was re-branded to Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management on 1st May 2013. Philip’s role at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management was Head of UK Intermediary Sales and Charities. Based in the City – Philip established and serviced key intermediary accounts with lawyers, accountants, fiduciaries and top-tier IFA firms, heading up the professional intermediary and charity business development team in the UK.
May 2006 to May 2008 – PDT Solicitors – Philip joined Paul Davidson Taylor Solicitors as a trainee solicitor, and successfully completed his 2-year training contract to qualify as a Solicitor. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors on 15 May 2008. Whilst training in private practice with Paul Davidson Taylor, Philip was also retained as a consultant with R&H Fund Services (Jersey) Limited, a division of the international chartered accountants Rawlinson & Hunter, where he provided technical support to investment institutions in the establishment of bespoke offshore private open ended investment companies.
November 2004 to May 2006 – Brewin Dolphin Securities Plc – Philip was a Divisional Director at Brewin Dolphin Plc, the UK’s largest independent private client asset management group, stockbroker and investment bank.
November 2001 to November 2004 – Close Brothers Group Plc – Philip advised Private Clients on investment strategies whilst working in the City as an Investment Consultant at Close Brothers Group Plc, the independent UK Merchant Bank.
May 1996 to November 2001 – Chief Executive of The Simmonds Group Limited including Simmonds (International) Financial Associates Limited in Hong Kong, Simmonds (UK) Financial Associates Limited based in London, Simmonds (Ventures and Investments) Limited and Simmonds (Finance and General) Limited. * Simmonds International Financial is currently one of the longest serving and most successful financial services firms in Hong Kong (19 years), and Philip retains a 10% shareholding in the company.
March 1995 to May 1996 – moved to Hong Kong with a team of 5 advisers, and advised ex-pat private clients and local Hong Kong Chinese on retirement planning and investment strategies.
August 1984 to March 1995 – Regional Manager with a national IFA firm with responsibility for 7 offices across southern England and 150+ staff.
